Description
This Brat, Potato, and Sauerkraut Stew is an excellent Midwest winter dinner to pair with a fluffy blanket and Netflix binge-watching.
Ingredients

- 2 medium russet potatoes, cubed (2-3 cups)
- 1 medium apple, cubed (1-1.5 cups)
- 1 small onion, diced (1/2-3/4 cup)
- 1/4 cup 100% apple juice (or use homemade)
- 1/2 cup bone broth
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 lb bratwurst, cut into 1" chunks
- 2 cups sauerkraut
- 6 slices bacon, cooked
Instructions
- In a 5 qt crockpot, combine the potatoes through garlic. Layer bratwurst overtop.
- Cook on low for 4-5 hours or until potatoes are tender and bratwurst is cooked through.
- Add the sauerkraut and stir to combine everything and warm the sauerkraut. Crumble bacon overtop and serve.
